ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Laura, Certified Life and Mindset Coach for women and  passionate hiker and adventurer.

I’ve taken a lot of paths in life, from moving across the country (twice), to leaving my 15-year career as a hairstylist to become a life coach, to thru-hiking the 485-mile Colorado Trail.

I've also been stopped in my tracks by fear, discouraged by failure and crippled by anxiety. I've given up on myself as many times as I've taken the leap toward the life I want.

In my late 20's, I found myself really struggling to manage my tendency toward anxiety and depression, and began working with a therapist. The work was slow, hard and at times, downright painful, but eventually, the fog began to lift. I realized the future I was heading toward didn't look so appealing. With the help of a coach, I started a full audit of my life and mindset. She helped me (and continues to help me) unearth the beliefs about myself and what I was capable of that were keeping me from going after, and even admitting to myself, what I really wanted in life.

Hiking was my refuge for years. It's where I went to process my emotions during times of deep struggle. It's where I attempted to escape anxiety and hide from the painful parts of life. As I embarked on the journey toward becoming the woman I wanted to be, hiking became my place for reflection, connection and celebration.

Thru-hiking the Colorado Trail was my way of honoring and celebrating my journey back to myself, thus-far.

Leading up to the hike, as I shared the details of my planning, I was heartbroken to hear so many women respond with "I could never do that".

So many of us desire to live adventurous, fulfilling lives, but are held back by lack of confidence, people-pleasing and the belief that we're not worthy.

That's why Wild Woman Coaching exists.

It took pushing out of my comfort zone and cultivating my own adventurous mindset to learn what it takes to help other women work through the discomfort of growth and meet their highest potential.

Through mindset coaching, community building, and a little Trail Magic, I’m here to help you:

  • Overcome limiting beliefs that leave you feeling like you’re not capable of reaching your goals

  • Establish goals and chart a clear path to ascend to new heights and make them a reality

  • Use the power of conscious mindset shifts to overcome imposter syndrome, poor self-confidence, negative self-talk, and fear of failure

  • Realize your own capability and immense potential and charge into your next big adventure in life with self-assurance and the tools to succeed

Basically, I want to see you succeed! I want to see you do wild, wonderful, and adventurous things. . . And I’m here to help arm you with the tools and mindset you need to achieve them.

If you’re sick of feeling like you’re your own worst enemy, I want to hear from you! Nobody deserves to feel that way. You are capable of so much more than you’re giving yourself credit for. I want to help you uncover the courage (trust me, it’s in there!) and skills you need to live a life of awe and fulfillment.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side

The Wild Woman Community is about women supporting women. I’m here to empower women to learn from, grow from, and support one another through weekly group coaching, Trail Magic hikes and walks, workshops and retreats. My role is to support the connections—with one another and with nature—that are built along the way.

The Wild Woman Community is designed as your personal space to express your goals, desires, and obstacles in a supportive, non-judgemental environment. I’ll guide you through delving into the unexplored wilderness of your own mind.

Looking to a coach doesn’t mean you’re less-than or incapable of achieving your goals on your own. I have had coaches, counselors, and physical therapists to support me on my journey as well!

Think of me as your Adventure Mindset Personal Trainer— you can absolutely lift the bar on your own. But I’m here to keep you accountable, help support you to keep showing up for yourself, and guide you through the techniques that will yield you the wildest results.

I created Wild Woman Coaching to be a space that fosters collaboration, vulnerability, community, inclusivity, and personal growth.

Come as you are, take what you need, and get ready to make wild strides.

A little bit more about Me. . .

  1. I’ve completed classes in outdoor recreation and leadership, including Wilderness Survival Skills, Leave No Trace, and Orienteering and Navigating.

  2. I’m actually a total introvert! I’ve recently come to appreciate this as an asset rather than a “flaw”.

  3. Despite being an introvert at heart, I love to listen, learn about other women, and engage in deep, thought-provoking conversations.

  4. I achieved my goal of solo thru-hiking all 485 miles of the Colorado Trail in the summer of 2021.

  5. The wilderness is my refuge. . . But my wonderful husband, Taylor, is a self-proclaimed “Indoorsman”. I’m constantly grateful for everything I have to learn from our differing perspectives on life.

  6. I also have two big dogs, Booker (my rottie-mix) and Monster (the black lab). They both enjoy nature walks as long as they don’t extend beyond 3 miles.

  7. I’m a Certified Life Coach through The Life Coach School.

  8. I am a Certified Wilderness First Responder.

  9. I left my career as a hairdresser of 15 years to pursue the adventure of mindset coaching full-time.

  10. Nothing else fulfills me like being able to support other women in their endeavors and watch them grow and find fulfillment in this magical life.
