Hi, I’m Laura, an adventure mindset coach for women and a passionate hiker and adventurer.
I’ve taken a lot of trails in life from moving across the country (twice), to becoming a certified mindset coach, to thru-hiking the Colorado Trail . The path was never smooth—it rarely ever is—but that’s why I’m here today. That’s why Wild Woman Coaching came to life.
I’ve seen my share of highs and lows, both on and off the hiking trail. In the early days of my hiking and backpacking excursions, I often used wilderness and solitude as my refuge.
I suffered from depression and social anxiety that began to hinder my potential in a variety of ways. Nature was where I went to escape, sit with my thoughts, and avoid the potentially awkward social interactions I dreaded so heavily.
Eventually, those struggles led me to seek counseling. Slowly but surely and through the discomfort of growth, counseling, medication, and continuing to take to the trail, the fog began to lift.
The work was difficult, uncomfortable, and at times downright painful. But it was absolutely necessary to end up in the place where I needed to be.
And that place is here, today, as an Adventure Mindset Coach. It took pushing past my own perceived boundaries and comfort zone to learn what it takes to help other women work through the discomfort of growth and meet their highest potential.
Through mindset coaching, community building, and a little Trail Magic, I’m here to help you:
Overcome limiting beliefs that leave you feeling like you’re not capable of reaching your goals
Establish goals and chart a clear path to ascend to new heights and make them a reality
Use the power of conscious mindset shifts to overcome imposter syndrome, poor self-confidence, negative self-talk, and fear of failure
Realize your own capability and immense potential and charge into your next big adventure in life with self-assurance and the tools to succeed
Basically, I want to see you succeed! I want to see you do wild, wonderful, and adventurous things. . . And I’m here to help arm you with the tools and mindset you need to achieve them.
If you’re sick of feeling like you’re your own worst enemy, I want to hear from you! Nobody deserves to feel that way. You are capable of so much more than you’re giving yourself credit for. I want to help you uncover the courage (trust me, it’s in there!) and skills you need to live a life of awe and fulfillment.
Take a Ride on the Wild Side
The Wild Woman Community is about women supporting women. I’m here to empower women to learn from, grow from, and support one another through Trail Magic hikes and virtual group and individual coaching. My role is to support the connections—with one another and with nature—that are built along the way.
The Wild Woman Community is designed as your personal space to express your goals, desires, and obstacles in a supportive, non-judgemental environment. I’ll guide you through delving into the unexplored wilderness of your own mind.
Looking to a coach doesn’t mean you’re less-than or incapable of achieving your goals on your own. I have had coaches, counselors, and physical therapists to support me on my journey as well!
Think of me as your Adventure Mindset Personal Trainer— you can absolutely lift the bar on your own. But I’m here to keep you accountable, help support you to keep showing up for yourself, and guide you through the techniques that will yield you the wildest results.
I created Wild Woman Coaching to be a space that fosters collaboration, vulnerability, community, inclusivity, and personal growth.
Come as you are, take what you need, and get ready to make wild strides.
A little bit more about Laura. . .
I’ve completed classes in outdoor recreation and leadership, including Wilderness Survival Skills, Leave No Trace, and Orienteering and Navigating.
I’m actually a total introvert! I’ve recently come to appreciate this as an asset rather than a “flaw”.
Despite being an introvert at heart, I love to listen, learn about other women, and engage in deep, thought-provoking conversations.
I achieved my goal of solo thru-hiking all 485 miles of the Colorado Trail in the summer of 2021.
The wilderness is my refuge. . . But my wonderful husband, Taylor, is a self-proclaimed “Indoorsman”. I’m constantly grateful for everything I have to learn from our differing perspectives on life.
I also have two big dogs, Booker (my rottie-mix) and Monster (the black lab). They both enjoy nature walks as long as they don’t extend beyond 3 miles.
I’m a Certified Life Coach through The Life Coach School.
I am a Certified Wilderness First Responder.
I left my career of 15 years to pursue the adventure of mindset coaching full-time.
Nothing else fulfills me like being able to support other women in their endeavors and watch them grow and find fulfillment in this magical life.
