Changing Your Life From the Inside Out

I'm betting that if you're reading this, it's probably because you want some aspect of your life to change. So, let me ask you this, are you more interested in changing the way your life looks on the outside or how it feels to you?

Lately, I've been reflecting on this question in my own journey.

If I look back over the past ten years, not much has changed in terms of the external aspects of my life. I'm still with the same partner, my two dogs—now older—still cozy up at my feet and snore. I've been living in the same house since 2016, without any plans to move. I still love to hike and garden.

Of course I've had some exciting experiences too. I've traveled, switched careers, and who could forget my personal highlight: thru-hiking the Colorado Trail.

When I see my life from the outside, it might not look like much has changed for me.

But when I think about what's different on the inside, it's kind of everything.

The connection in my marriage is deeper, my friendships are more authentic, my confidence in my business has grown, and I've found the courage to be more visible in every aspect of my life. I've learned to set boundaries, stop people-pleasing, and treat myself with kindness rather than self-criticism.

And I can honestly say, all of it is because of the practice of thought-work and mindset coaching. Through coaching sessions with others and my own daily self-coaching routine, my inner world has completely transformed.

I don't think most of us want our outer world to change as much as we want to feel differently.

We want to feel calm in the face of chaos, brave enough to stand up for ourselves, and confident enough to take on challenges. We want to feel adventurous and empowered.

Changing your life doesn't have to mean adding more things. or creating a bucket list of grand experiences. (Honestly, bucket lists seem exhausting to me.) Fulfillment doesn't come from what you do, it comes from how you treat yourself, and what you believe about yourself and your life.

The way you want to feel in your life is created by your mindset.
